Differences in play style are extremely dependent on where you played last and where you are looking to play so check out the Agent-Link Community (coming soon!) to learn more about the league specific playing style differences from those that have experienced it first hand. Below are some of the very general differences and some factors to consider regarding the play style of potential leagues.
Professional basketball is much more physical and fast-paced than college and amateur basketball.
Overseas basketball is much more team oriented than basketball in America. As such, players are expected to be better at creating an advantage off of the ball through screening and cutting. Iso plays are also used less frequently.
Before signing with a team, it is important to, if possible, watch as much film on their style of play as well as the league’s style of play. Finding a team that your skills will fit well with is very important as many talented players have struggled because they weren't able to perform well in a team’s system.
